After NY arrest that is shocking, Avenatti faces court in California

Weekly after Michael Avenatti’s shocking arrest in New York, the lawyer for representing porn star Stormy Daniels in battles against President Donald Trump, famed will soon be back in court Monday to face fraud charges.

The brash attorney faces a hearing in the Orange County city of Santa Ana on charges that he fraudulently obtained $4 million in bank loans and pocketed $1.6 million who belonged to a client.

Now police are adding their voices together with the specter of a prison sentence which could be the downfall of a guy who considered challenging Trump in his re-election bidding.

Avenatti is charged with bank and wire fraud. He released on $300,000 bond on extortion charges that were unrelated and was detained in New York.

Federal prosecutors in New York allege that Avenatti tried to shake down Nike for millions of bucks so he would not reveal allegations significant school basketball players were paid off by the apparel firm. The bill has been denied by him and began tweeting that which he called evidence of this scandal the day after he was detained.

In California, federal prosecutors said Avenatti embezzled that a customer’s settlement funds and filed bogus tax returns to fraudulently secure $ 4 million in loans from a Mississippi bank.

The U.S. lawyer’s office in Los Angeles stated Monday’s hearing would likely concentrate on setting future court dates.

Including renting a home in Newport Beach avenatti is famous for his outspoken challenge of lifestyle and Trump. He represented Daniels in her assert which Trump paid her to stay quiet.

Avenatti’s former law firm moved through bankruptcy proceedings and was ordered to pay $10 million into a former partner, who is still currently trying to collect the money.
