Amazon says it will accept Money at cashless stores

Amazon, confronting backlash from critics that say cashless shops discriminate against the poor, will accept cash at all its stores.

The online shopping giant has more than 30 shops that don’t accept cash, including Amazon Go convenience shops and its book stores.

Amazon confirmed it’s working to accept money, but would not say when that could happen.

Critics say cashless shops discriminate against those that don’t possess credit cards or bank accounts. Philadelphia became the first city to prohibit cashless stores this year; New Jersey passed a ban; and New York, San Francisco and other cities are thinking of similar legislation.
