Nissan ex-chair Ghosn Discharged from Japanese detention

Former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn walked out of a Japanese detention center Thursday evening, his head held high, later paying 500 million yen ($4.5 million) in faculty and also winning a court denial of an appeal from prosecutors.

Ghosn walked out of the Tokyo Detention House with a number of his attorneys by his side. They turned off and got into a van, watched by dozens of supporters who had been awaiting his release for hours.

Prosecutors had fought to keep him in custody. However, the Tokyo District Court determined in the day he must be published.
